PG Release Notes

We’re back with another update to PortalGuard. To improve usability across different environments, we’ve introduced new customizations for PortalGuard’s Single Sign-on and Multi-Factor Authentication capabilities, as well as expanded support for organizations using Azure AD. We’re also excited to bring certain features — first made available with IDaaS — to on-prem deployments so all PortalGuard users can benefit from optimal risk prevention and the same level of convenience.

Keep reading for the latest PortalGuard updates and stay tuned for bigger developments coming soon!

PortalGuard Release Notes is our quarterly update that provides a high-level overview of recent PortalGuard enhancements. For comprehensive documentation, check out the PortalGuard v6 change logs.

What’s New in PortalGuard v6.6.0.1

  1. New SSO Jump Page Type: Bookmarks

For organizations that use PortalGuard’s SSO Jump Page as the launch point for access to all end-user apps, there is a new dedicated type for tiles that are static URLs. These bookmarks can be used for websites that do not support SSO protocols or may not need authentication.

  2. PG Desktop: MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) Bypass Grace Period

As a usability measure, this feature bypasses the need for a second factor on subsequent logins or unlocks after a full MFA login is performed. The amount of time the bypass is in effect is configurable. The user is always prompted for their password when the bypass is in effect.

  3. Expanded Capability for Organizations Using Azure AD (Active Directory)

PortalGuard supports organizations using Azure AD as their primary domain, allowing direct domain joining. PG Desktop can be used with Azure AD joined workstations.

  4. PG Desktop: Integration with WEB-key Client v4.1

PG Desktop features WEB-key v4.1 support for fingerprint authentication.

IDaaS Feature Now Available for On-Prem

The following were mentioned as a part of our Q3 Release Notes. These features were first made available with IDaaS and are now released for use on-prem as well.

  1. SMS Throttling

SMS Pump attacks, which are costly and can lead to SMS account shutdown by 3rd party vendors, can be thwarted by PortalGuard's SMS blacklist and quarantine abilities.

  2. PG Desktop: FIDO2 Hardware Token Support

PG Desktop enables the use of FIDO2 hardware tokens as a new MFA option. Like all other MFA types with PG Desktop, FIDO2 tokens can be used as the default or fallback MFA authenticator.

  3. Help Desk: Customizable Global Admin Search Filters

User search filters for Global Help Desk admins are now configurable, allowing for a higher degree of flexibility and customization in complex environments.

  4. Dashboard Reports Details

By default, dashboard reports now display both the login username along with the PortalGuard username. Dashboard admins can better comprehend and filter user activity history.

We're Recruiting Early Adopters
